USF Dancing with Stars Begins Fourth Season
On Monday March 5th, four teams competed in hopes to put on the best performance during USFs Dancing with the stars. The event coordinator Josiah Abraham talks about what this competition is all about.
“Dancing with the stars is honestly just like the TV show. Basically, we got some dancers and some choreographers. They have been working really hard and are competing for prize money,” says Abraham.
There are dancers, a panel of judges, and hosts. Two of the dancers, Victor Nyagudi and Kelsey Bageant, talk about why decided to do Dancing with the Stars.
“I just love the event so I can’t get away from it. It’s a huge commitment, but it is so much fun. Once you have been preparing all week with your partner, then you get on stage… it’s such an adrenaline rush” Kelsey Bageant says.
When asked how they chose partners, Victory Nyagudi says “Kelsey actually chose me, because I’m the real deal.”
At the end of each night students can cast their votes towards the team they believed put on the best performance.
The judges provide each group with helpful critiques to benefit them for their next competition. By the end of the final performance night, a cash prize will be rewarded to the winning team with the highest number of votes.
Go see the final show of Dancing with the Stars on Wednesday, March 19th, at 9:00 pm in the Jeschke Auditorium.
