March Madness at USF

Story by Irene Samaniego

Madness. That’s a word closely associated with March. Yes, that’s right. ‘March Madness’ is upon us. Time for upsets, bracket busters, and Cinderella stories as the NCAA tournament begins. Time to fill out your bracket, and hope for the best. We catch up with some USF students, as they tell us how their brackets are doing.

Yes. The Duke Blue Devils. The team that everyone had picked to go far in the tournament. They wound up getting upset by the Mercer College Bears, a team that no one thought had a chance at winning it.

This year’s tournament has been anything but normal.

Students give us their take on who they think has the best shot of winning it all.

In the first round alone, there were 5 overtime games, setting a new NCAA record.

The field of 64 teams is down to 16 with many upsets having already happened, and more of them to come. There’s still plenty of basketball left, as the national championship will be played on April 7th, in Arlington, TX.
