Swinging for the Fences with Connor Gibson

Story by Miranda Cain, Yuharelly Comparan, & Theodore Frid

USF baseball player Connor Gibson received some terrible news not too long ago. Connor was diagnosed with a brain tumor shortly after experiencing a seizure the night before. With much support from the team, school, and family, two students; Haley Kieser and Amber Hennings are doing as much as they can to support and help out.

“It would be good to do something to make him feel good, and so I thought maybe T-shirts was the way to do it” Said Haley. She continued to talk about other things her and Amber have been doing to support. “We have a Facebook group” Said Haley.

Haley and Amber created flyers that are now posted around campus informing students and staff about T-shirts and how to buy them to support Connor.

With Amber Hennings being the girlfriend of Connor Gibson, she has been trying hard to look forward and be encouraging. “So like I just want to be positive for him”. Said Amber as she talked about how all the support has been really helpful for her and more importantly Connor.

From the T-shirts, to the Facebook group, to everyone being really supportive in this tough time for Connor. He is grateful for all the love from everyone.
