Countdown to Conference: 2020 NSIC Indoor Challenge Meet
By Jasmine Harris
With two weeks until the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Conference Championships, the University of Sioux Falls Cougars are All In this season.
On Saturday, February 15, runners, jumpers, and throwers from USF all competed at the 2020 NSIC Indoor Challenge Meet at Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minnesota. With only 14 days left to qualify for the conference championship meet, the Cougars had a fixed focus. Casey Hackett, sophomore USF men’s long/triple jumper says, “With conference coming up in just two weeks, our focus is the phrase All In.” Each year, the USF Track & Field team chooses a word or phrase to define a purpose for its season. “This means trusting the process, whether it be our training or knowing our teammate has our back, through the highs and lows of this sport.”
The USF Cougars already have 43 athletes qualified for the conference championships and are looking to add to that number, before February 28 arrives, by training hard, running fast, jumping, and throwing far.
