Cassandra Swenson, a USF senior shared her views about how women are treated in advertising.
“When you think of women in media, you think of things you’ve seen. Lately there has been that Kim Kardashian cover, and you know her body was manipulated and just distorted in this way to look appealing to male viewers,” Swenson said.
She said that she does not think that this distortion of pictures is good for women either because the image of beauty is skewed. Swenson said that the manipulation of pictures sets a weird ideal for women.
“I would like to see in advertising, more women in the raw, just kind of in that natural state,” Swenson said.
