USF Spring Production Cancelled, Memories Still Alive
University of Sioux Falls’ spring musical, Singin’ in the Rain, has been cancelled for the season due to the implications of the coronavirus. Luckily, some of the show is still preserved as members of the cast and crew made an escapade in early March to film scenes for the production. The plot of the show is centered around the silent film industry and chronicles the shift that Hollywood stars make to talking pictures in America in the 1920s. USF sophomore Greta Smith pieced together some of the excess footage shot by students Apolonia Davalos and Morgan Holien in a gag reel for the cast to remember. Though many of the musical’s stars are not depicted in the film, the production will remain a fond memory to everyone involved. These special USF theatre students are sad to see the show go, but grateful for the time shared in the roles that they took on.
