How to make the best of Thanksgiving break

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and be grateful for what you have and who you have. This time is often spent with family or loved ones but for those who have traveled far for greater education or other reasons, they might not have that luxury. Here are a few ideas of how you can make the most out of Thanksgiving break.

Friendsgiving:

Get together with your other friends who aren’t leaving for the holiday and throw your Friendsgiving. Get in the spirit and cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal or each brings your own, either way, you will be surrounded by loved ones and still get that same homey feeling.

Volunteer:

Thanksgiving is about expressing thanks and gratitude, one way you can show that is by giving back to your community. Sioux Falls has lots of ways you can volunteer, one example is the Banquet! It won’t just make you feel good but make a difference for the better in the lives of others.

Events within the community:

By joining different Thanksgiving events within the Sioux Falls community, you will have the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. It might make you step out of your comfort zone and maybe you’ll learn something new or pick up a new tradition.

Binge:

Or there is a choice I’m sure a lot of people thought of. A break from homework and finally some free time to binge that shows you’ve been wanting to watch or catch up on your favorite show. So, grab a warm blanket, some hot cocoa and snuggle in!
