Men’s Golf is in Full Swing
With the beginning of spring here, USF men’s golf has started to hit the golf courses once again.
“We are two weeks into the spring season and looking back at the fall, fall was a good start for us,” Head Coach Brett Bennett says. “Similar to the women’s golf team, we have a young team.”
The 2018 spring has been a chilly time, making the weather not ideal for practicing outside. However, thanks to the Avera Sports Dome, the golf team has facilities that very few teams in this area have a chance to use.
“We’re able to see the ball fly about 50 or 60 yards. There’s a lot of other programs that aren’t able to have a facility such as this, so we are very fortunate to be in here,” Bennett says.
This season’s team is very young and coach Bennett says that the future is very bright for the USF men’s golf team.
“With our 2018 recruiting class, we’ve got one kid coming from Brainerd and two kids from Sioux Falls,” Bennett says. “We’ll graduate one senior next year and then we’ll have 3, 3, and 3 for junior, sophomore, and freshman classes.”
USF Men’s golf will travel to Wayne, Nebraska for a tournament on March 30th and March 31st.
