The Winner is…

Story by Whitney Fryer

USF Idol contestants brought audience members to their feet and wowed judges during the final round of competition.

On Monday night, students cast their ballots for the contestant they thought performed the best overall during the past month and the votes are in.

Amy Hanson placed third, Elizabeth Enells took second, and Tuakah Wheingar won first place and the hearts of fellow students.

With such fierce competitors, the winners were honored to be named in the top three.

“It is amazing, especially considering the competition, it is great.  The atmosphere here [and] the crowd was just amazing,” said Wheingar.

Although USF idol was time consuming, the contestants unanimously agreed, the hard work was well worth it.

“I’m so honored to perform with all of these people, so getting second place does not feel like a loss to me. It feels like an honor,” said Enells.

The greatest takeaways for all three idol winners was getting the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of an audience. As well as growing as performers throughout the whole process.
