Mind Games by TJ Moore
Story by Jacob VanEngen
If you are a student at USF you may have heard the buzz about a new book written by one of our very own students. This week, we sat down with Tracy Moore, author of the new book “Mind Games” and talked with him about his work.
When first asked for an overview on the book, Tracy said,”The book is called ‘Mind Games’ and it is a suspense thriller about a CSI photographer living in San Fransisco. People start disappearing from the city, and he and his team of detectives have to follow the case. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and I actually interviewed real police and detectives and a judge to write this book, I even took forensic psychology to research this field.”
Seeing that He put a lot of effort into his writing, we asked Tracy if he had any Ideas for future books he may write. “Yes, I already have may ideas for more books, but I would like to do a comedy book because this more drama and suspense and I would like to do something that could use those elements of the fast paced story telling, but i would use it wit ha comedic scene” Tracy said.
Lastly we asked what advice he had for aspiring novelists, he said,”You cannot wait for inspiration, it has to become a habit. If you want to complete a project of this length, you have to decline yourself to form a plan and have goals along the way. It’s great to have an idea at the start, and that’s the best part of the process when your first coming up with stuff, but to stick with the characters and to stick with the story and to be able to finish it, thats the challenging part.”
