2015 Cougar Homecoming

Story by Yuharelly Comparan & Theodore Frid

For the past week the campus of the University of Sioux Falls has been rumbling with excitement. Awaiting the homecoming football game against Winona State, USF has been uniting students with a variety of on-campus activities.

On Wednesday afternoon the campus was filled with music and accompanied by various yard games. Ending the day with a bonfire that led into the Night.

Later on in the week, the Campus Activities Board held a pep-rally at the Stewarts center. Where the cheerleaders gave us a glance of what sideline cheer will look like at the football game.

With all these activities going on, it was hard not to get excited, we caught up with one of USF’s students to get an insight of how homecoming was like for him.

Derrick Sheppard says, “ Good times with friends and family, come out and join. Have a good time.”

Finally after a week of events, the anticipated homecoming game arrived with a class A football team accompanied by passionate fans. At the game, students and alumni were able to notice how the activities of the week were able to increase the cougar population.

USF Alumni Brett Jensen says, “ I’ve notice crowd basis have got a lot bigger.”

The excitements of homecoming lead to a triumphant win against Winona state. With another win in the books cougar pride is still roaming the campus. It is always a good day to be a coo, go cougars!
