University of Sioux Falls Campus Ministries
By Kylin McKean
Like every other office and organization around the University of Sioux Falls, Campus Ministries is around to help students thrive in their studies as well as their relationship with God. With an event happening almost every day on campus, there are plenty of opportunities for you to have fellowship with other students and deepen your relationship with the Lord. Campus Ministries is focused on implementing the school’s motto “Culture for Service” while creating welcoming environments through many events. Plus, you would not want to miss out on the snacks!
Some of the many opportunities that Campus Ministries offers for students are Chapel on Tuesday mornings, Thursday Night Worship, weekly bible studies, FCA, and volunteer opportunities. Chapel is a time where students and faculty gather for worship and teachings by Campus Pastor Dennis Thum. You can also join campus for Thursday Night Worship where students lead in song and prayer; and every so often a combined worship night with our friends next-door, Augustana. On Tuesdays, the chaplain of your resident building organizes a Bible Study for you to deepen your understanding of the Bible while getting to know the people in your dorm. Lastly, FCA, or Fellowship of Christian Athletes, happens every Wednesday night and is a time for not only athletes but anyone who wants to be involved in games, laughter, and a time of bonding through God’s word.
Join Campus Ministries at any of their events or stop into Student Development to say hello! For questions, future events, or information on how you can be involved contact Graduate Assistant Andrea Manning or follow Campus Ministries @usfcampusministries on Facebook and Instagram.
